Cheese Selection

Cerney Ash Goat’s Cheese, Simon Weavers Organic Cotswold Brie, Oxford Blue, Leonard Stanley Mature Cheddar

Cerney Ash Goat’s Cheese
This multi award-winning pyramid-shaped cheese is covered with ash and white mould and has a fluffy, curdy texture with just a little softening under the rind. The beautiful texture strikes you immediately and then the taste of lemon with a hint of almond. Cerney Goat’s Cheese is produced in the Cotswold village of North Cerney, just 26 miles away from the restaurant. Cerney Ash wins Gold/Silver/Bronze medals each year at the British Cheese Awards and has been voted Supreme Champion several times by a tasting panel of industry experts.

Simon Weavers Organic Cotswold Brie
Brie-lovers can not ask for more than this wondrously creamy tasting cheese. The Cotswold Friesian milk flavour comes through as buttery and possibly even a bit sweeter than a French Brie. Made by Simon Weaver at Cotswold Organic Dairy in Upper Slaughter, Gloucestershire, 38 miles away from the restaurant.

Oxford Blue
This cheese dominates any cheese board by looking so ripe and fresh, and the taste is equal to the looks. It is becoming very popular and is still only made by a small artisan team, creamy semi-soft blue veined cheese with a striking looking rind. The cheese is made in a Stilton Dairy to precise specifications to create the uniquely smooth texture with the strong taste you'd expect from a blue, but much creamier than Stilton.
This outstanding blue cheese is made by Baron Pouget of the Oxford Cheese Company in Worming Hall, 68 miles away from the restaurant.

Leonard Stanley Mature Cheddar
Produced by a small family run business which concentrates on quality not quantity in the village of Leonard Stanley, this is an outstanding cheddar with a long and intense flavour. Matured in the traditional way bound in cloth for a minimum of seven months to achieve the depth of flavour you would expect from a quality mature West Country Cheddar. Produced 18 miles away from the restaurant.

All served with Duchy Originals, Organic Oat biscuits and quince chutney.
